Helping donate to the victims of Haiti Earthquake

// January 13th, 2010 // HAITI earthquake, art, charity

7.0 earthquake rocked Haiti at 4:53 p.m., leaving an already vulnerable and impoverished country in total chaos.

The earthquake — the strongest to hit the Caribbean nation in more than two centuries — struck just 10 miles off the coast of Haiti’s capital city of Port-Au-Prince, according to the Associated Press.

With videos online and on the news flooding in from the earthquake torn area in Haiti. There’s a really helpless feeling that comes over you. What can really be done to help such a devistated area when we ourselves are not better off with money or luxuries.  I figured that the least I myself could do this morning was offer one of my paintings for sale with all the proceeds being delivered straight to help the victims of the devastating Haiti Earthquake.

Below is the painting that I have put up for sale just last night. It’s a piece from my personal collection done in 2007 while living in Long Beach CA. The theme of the painting is surrounded by homelessness. The painting has been named “of plenty” If you do make a purchase please note in an email to me after the purchase your name and I will sign in over directly to your name on the back of the painting. As well whomever purchased this painting I will also offer a link to any site you wish on the pushgallery blog. If you have a company or blog yourself please let me know about it in the email and I will make sure to connect to you here on the pushgallery art blog. Also any other paintings sold this week I will be donating 10% of those sales towards the Haiti Earthquake fund as well.

The donations will be donated to edeyo (http://www.edeyo.org/haiti.html) and will be used directly for the aid of the victims of the Haiti Earthquake. All Receipts of the donation will also be sent to the purchaser of the painting to have a copy for yourself and a reminder of your help. If you have a specific request on the donations going to a different organization surrounding the aid of the Haiti victims I will take them into consideration and you can email me directly here: justin@pushgallery.com

Edeyo is an independent not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the future of children in Haiti by rebuilding dilapidated schools, supplying students with learning materials, and providing them with nutritional support.

Here are a few images of the painting. Please click the link below them to see the full painting and the information on purchasing it. Thank you, Justin Snyder
